Featuring Not Too Far Distant by Becky Boesen

This inservice will introduce educators to supplementary Holocaust education programming in Nebraska with our listed partners. Our resources will help educators build their students’ content knowledge, empathy, and critical thinking skills. Educators will gain tangible resources that can be easily integrated into their curriculum. Learning about primary sources related to the Holocaust will be a focus of this training. This inservice is open to all content areas that incorporate Holocaust education in their curriculum or those who seek to incorporate Holocaust education in their curriculum in the future.

This Holocaust Education Inservice is sponsored in part by the Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources Midwest Region Program, located at Illinois State University. You can read about the Teaching with Primary Sources Partner Program here. Content created and featured in partnership with the TPS Midwest Region does not indicate an endorsement by the Library of Congress. TPS grants, such as the funding awarded to the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Harris Center for Judaic Studies, support the Library’s mission to engage, inspire, and inform Congress and the American people with a universal and enduring source of knowledge and creativity. A second Inservice will host facilitators from the Teaching with Primary Sources Teachers Network and will be held at UNL in the Fall of 2024 (TBD).

The TPS Teachers Network provides a password-protected, peer-to-peer platform designed to support teachers, librarians, and other educators in the use of Library of Congress primary sources to improve student learning. The majority of members learn about the Network through TPS workshops, courses, and other sponsored events. Others are simply educators with a keen interest in teaching with primary sources.
